Without salts we are not able to maintain and sustain our health and well being. That’s right sea salt is alkaline and helps energize our cells and tissues. Our blood has a similar composition to sea salt including all the minerals and trace elements. When we consume raw sea salt we replace the various electrolytes lost on a regular basis. The key is to use a naturally dried raw sea salt that is not heated or polluted. This helps keep our cells and fluids in a healthy state.  Remember you must drink adequate amounts of  water every day to avoid dehydration.

Table salt (NaCl) on the other hand is a highly heated and refined salt that removes most of the minerals and trace elements that our bodies need. Table salt is primarily two elements and the sodium (Na) is responsible for causing health issues like high blood pressure as the body excretes water to get rid of the excess sodium.

    Take a swim or walk barefoot on a beach by the sea.

    Add a pinch of sun dried sea salt to beverages like green drinks, herbal teas, smoothies, teas and water for the minerals and trace elements.

  • Take an Epsom salt or sea salt bath to feel refreshed, rejuvenated and relaxed. Add a few drops of relaxing and soothing essential oil like lavender, sandalwood or rosemary.  Bicarbonate of soda or Calcium bentonite clay can also be added to the water for a little extra cleanse and detox.
  • Take a swim or walk barefoot on a beach by the sea. There is a beneficial ionic charge at the beach that is very energizing and invigorating. Being in or near sea water is very cleansing and therapeutic.
  • Enjoy a natural electrolyte energy drink made with a little honey,maple syrup or stevia, a pinch of sea salt and squeeze of fresh lemon or lime.
  • Using a slightly warm saline solution as a nasal irrigation is a great way to clean out our sinuses.
