The 2016 Great NEWS posts enjoy sharing Healthy Habits to promote happiness, health and harmony success strategies. Today’s post is about a new Belize Eco Friendly and Sustainable Living Master Planned Community. This information may provide insights for those eager to design, build and live the life of their dreams in a sustainable eco village committed to long term ecological balance, quality of life and world of wellness. My goal for today’s post is to share some additional ideas, plans and values for this new eco village being created in southern Belize.

Over the last two years we have been learning the lay of the land to create a land plan for our master planned eco village. Six trips in 2015 helped us observe the fauna, flora and flow of the property and surrounding areas. By studying the plants, rain, seasons, soils, sun, terrain and weather it is easier to design, build and live in harmony while creating an environmentally friendly community for sustainable living.

By studying the plants, rain, seasons, soils, sun, terrain and weather it is easier to design, build and live in harmony while creating an environmentally friendly community for sustainable living.

Christopher Nesbitt  at Maya Mountain Research Farm reminded me how important it is for optimal land planning to identify clear values, variety, vibration, vision and view of the future so the advisory board and construction and development team can guide the path and progress of the project. Great resources and role models are vital for rapid results while protecting the earth, ecology and environment. Working together we can educate, enhance and evaluate our master planned eco friendly community, permaculture, reforestation and wellness center. Combining all of these into a cohesive project will be a major accomplishment and advancement that will benefit the residents and surrounding local communities.

With a better understanding of various government departments (BTB, BEL, CBA, EIA) and the regulations, people, projects, planning, property, surrounding ecosystems, vegetation and weather we are moving forward with creating an eco friendly community master plan. Recruiting the advisory board and construction and development team are top priorities. Then comes balancing the various aspects of budgeting, compliance, contracts, construction, deed restrictions, financial guidelines, future residents, funding,  infrastructure, property development and utilization, resource management, utilities, waste water systems and water resource planning to identify a practical and realistic time frame.

To maximize rapid results and minimize learning loopy life lessons it is imperative to seek out experienced experts for buildings, construction guidelines and restrictions, drainage, landscaping, roads, topography, utilities, vegetation, waste management and water resources. One key goal for 2015 was to create a beginning land plan draft. Main first year outcomes included planting flowering plants, food trees, hardwood reforestation (mahogany and cedar) and shade trees (mango and sea almonds) during the rainy season to help provide better plant diversity and insure better plant suitability during the dry season. Plantings included: over twenty coconut, twenty mango, forty moringa, fifty madre cacao, thirty sea almonds, fifty mahogany seedlings, fifty cedar seedlings and several hundred mahogany seeds planted. The entire highway frontage was selectively cleared and planted with bougainvillea and hibiscus. Additional miscellaneous plantings included acerola cherry, cactus, cacao, cashew, chaya, flamboyant trees, palms, papaya, soursop and teak trees.

Plant More Trees

Creating an organic permaculture food forest and reforestation project in harmony with the land and local weather will create a more sustainable ecosystem. Both require a good awareness of the local ecosystem and long term environmental impact of decisions made. Organic food forests and permaculture gardens in green spaces will surround the future homes. These will provide fantastic flowers, foods and fragrances to delight your taste buds, entice your nostrils and nourish your body, mind and spirit.

Belize Plants

Creating an organic permaculture food forest and reforestation project in harmony with the land and local weather will create a more sustainable ecosystem.

Planting a wide variety of diverse seedlings and seeds in 2015 will start the process to manifest a magnificent ecosystem that will benefit all organisms in the community together. Our key goal is to design, build and live in a sustainable way in our eco community south of Maya Centre Village, Belize. A high priority after the electricity is installed is to begin construction of the CSEB buildings for bathroom facilities, bed and breakfast, caretaker houses, dining and kitchen, guest houses, washing machine facility and walkways. Using Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB) made with local clay, sand and less than 10% cement appears to be the most economical, eco friendly and efficient building material. The Dwell Earth training in Dallas confirmed my initial research that building with this eco friendly material will be the best choice for the long term.

Six trips to Belize in 2015 have  provided many strategic and synergistic meetings with a wide variety of people that will be extremely helpful in planning the projects. Christopher Nesbit and Matt Miller agreed to be on the advisory board to help guide our planning and progress as we design, build and live our sustainable living community in Belize.

Experts like Christopher and Marga and Matt Miller at Monkey Bay with 30 years each of valuable experience in Belize will be extremely valuable coaches for our success. With additional experts at the Austin, Texas based Design Build Live – Natural Building Sustainable Living organization we have been surrounding ourselves with a great community and network committed to conscious, green and sustainable living. Our advisory board and construction and development team are being carefully chosen based on proven abilities and desires to collaborate and cooperate and help create an amazing master planned eco friendly community and sustainable living lifestyle.

The people you surround yourself with on a consistent basis defines and determines much of the permanent progress and rapid results you attain. Our body, heart, mind and spirit are driving our planning and thinking to make this eco friendly community a permanent piece of paradise. We are actively seeking a terrific team with the right stuff and the energy, health and vitality to create a holistic health  habitat focused on making magic moments and a wonderful world of wellness in Belize.
