While our global water resources seem abundant and vast we are rapidly contaminating, depleting and polluting one of our most precious resources on earth which we depend on for life. Each of us must do our part to stop polluting and wasting water. Remember…If you are not part of the water solution you are part of the water problem.

There are many differing explantations, justifications and rationalizations for why this is allowed to happen. The bottom line today is we have much less water that is healthy and much more water that is a health hazard. As a result many people are facing clean water shortages and many people are suffering from water that has become a health hazard. Previous blog posts have addressed the importance of providing the body with clean water and the health hazards of contaminated and polluted water. Many people are harming their health and quality of life by consuming water that may be deemed safe by public health agencies yet can end up sabotaging our long tern happiness and health. Due to a lack of detailed education and information most people are unaware what constitutes healthy water and what health hazards are lurking in their drinking water. With a few basic guidelines and biological principles you will be better informed if your water is healthy or a health hazard.

There are many different hidden agendas, opinions and points of view regarding the rights and ownership of water around the world. With some basic education and information you will be better able to decide for yourself and make better choices regarding if your water is healthy or  a health hazard. If your health and well being are top priorities it is essential to consume healthy water.  The goal of this blog post is to educate and inform readers about how to consume healthy water and avoid health hazard water.

Biology 101

LakePeople are making misinformed and uneducated choices about water that is robbing them of their health. Our body is about 75% water so we must consume the best beverages, foods and water to maintain our level of hydration each day. Unfortuantely many sources of the water we consume are contaminated with artificial additives, chemicals, drugs, heavy metals, plastic, pollution, sugars and toxins that are harming our level of  health and well being. These chemicals and compounds in our beverages, foods and water are indirectly responsible for billions of dollars spent on chronic disease and health issues. Our health is our wealth and many people are making unhealthy choices regarding what water sources are best for our body.

Since our body is 75% water we must replenish it each day with clean water and avoid contaminated water. Unfortunately we live in a world where big corporations, governments and special interest groups can use confusion, deception and misinformation for their profit proposition and to deceive consumers about what water is healthy and what water is a health hazard that can harm our long term health. While it takes time to read, research and review resources to be better educated on the paramaters for pure water anyone can learn the best sources for clean water and how to avoid the health hazards of contaminated water.

Healthy Water 101

  • Rain CatcherDrink clean water from safe aquaferes, rivers, springs and wells. Be sure the water is tested regularly for pathogens and pollution.
  • Learn about chlorine and fluoride added to your water which should be filtered out. Petition your water board to ban Fluoride.
  • Filter your drinking water prior to consumption. There are many quality water filters that remove contaminants.
  • Avoid lake, river, stream or well water that may be contanminated from industrial, surface or underground pollutants. Fracking is polluting much our our clean water resources.
  • Agriculture use of antibiotics, chemicals, herbicides and pesticides are some of the biggest polluters of our water supplies.
  • Avoid beverages, fruit drinks, juices and sodas as a source of water. They are loaded with unhealthy additives, chemicals and compounds.
  • Avoid water in plastic bottles. Plastic compounds leach into the water. The plastic bottles are also a major source of water pollution.
  • Avoid bathing and swimming in chemically comtaminated water.
  • Stop polluting our water with chemicals, drugs, heavy metals and toxic compounds going down your drains and toilets. Our toilet water becomes another communities drinking water.
  • Many developed countries with good intentions are promoting flush toilets to countries where they are not practical and sustainable.
  • In many parts of the world composting toilets make much better sense than flush toilets.
  • Rain cache and retention is a smart investment for most areas of the world. Unfortunately even rain water needs to be filtered.
  • Always consume adequate water and water rich plant foods to keep your body hydrated.
  • Many people feel that the cleanest source of water is from natural springs. If you have access to one protect it from all pollution.
  • Remember…when you think about water be sure to do your part to keep our lakes, rivers, streams and oceans clean and pollution free.
