It is late summer and many businesses and organizations are prompting people to get their flu shots early. Many people will simply follow these directions and get one. Since flu shots have become such a common recommendation it seemed like a good idea to read the flu disclosure and warning and research flu shots in order to discuss this topic with greater insight and wisdom. Today we will address information to better decide Are Flu Shots a Health Hazard?

Flu shots are widely recommended for children, teens, adults and seniors every year. Have you stopped to wonder what is in a flu shot and why are they promoted and pushed by various clinics, doctors, employers, hospitals, insurance companies, nurses, organizations, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies? Flu shots are one of the most advertised and recommended shots. Why?
Yes influenza is one of the most common conditions that people seem susceptible to during the fall and winter months. It does contribute to significant absent and sick days for adults, children and seniors. It can also lead to more significant health problems and even death. Even with all theses issues the flu is not a debilitating disease but an accurate barometer and warning gauge of our level of immune function and lifestyle factors.
The flu is easy to eliminate as well as easy to experience based on our food choices, immune system, levels of exercise, lifestyle habits, nutrition intake, stress levels and weather influences. During the summer people are outdoors more and enjoying more exercise and fresh air. During the winter people are more prone to holiday stress, less fresh raw fruits and vegetables, less time outdoors, not exercising, overeating, over indulging in alcohol, parties and staying indoors more.
A case of the flu can be a mild annoyance or a serious condition based on many factors and variables. Therefore it is important to have a basic understanding of how and why the flu affects us and what we can do to minimize and even prevent having the flu. There are different factors starting with the basics like your eating habits and lifestyle factors that play a major role in your health and well being.
Important factors to consider regarding our foods choices that makes a major difference with our health includes details about chemical use, contamination, genetically modified crops and refined foods versus nutrient dense organic whole foods. Yes we must investigate and read labels regarding foods consumed to include: additives, animal products, carbohydrates, cooking methods, fats, fiber, food combining, food transportation, local sourcing, oils, preparation, processed foods, raw foods, salt consumption, vegetable intake and water quality. Sewage treatment waste and waste water are not safe for use on food crops or in gardens due to chemical and pharmaceutical hazards.
People are eating too many processed and refined fake, fast and junk foods with too little antioxidants, enzymes, fiber, minerals, phyto-nutrients, trace elements and vitamins. This reduces our energy level and weakens our immune system so we are more vulnerable to virus causing colds and flu. It is essential to understand how our digestion, homeostasis, hormones, immune, lifestyle, microbiome, nutrition, resilience and sleep systems work together to prevent colds or flu virus from harming us and leading to more severe health problems.
Around the world colds and flu are a major problem for people of all ages. Having had the flu many times prior to my health epiphany in 1995 it is easy to see why people want to avoid it and will do almost anything a medical professional tells them including a jab of dead virus in the arm. Most people have been lead to believe that a flu shot is a good way to lessen your changes or even prevent a person from getting the flu. This is a tall tale and wild stretch of the imagination as you will soon learn. Unfortunately when we hear the same story every year we begin to believe it and think it must be true. Why would they (doctors, drug stores, hospitals, nurses, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies) keep telling us every year we must get a flu shot to be prepared for flu season? The lack of direct, honest, open and transparent communications regarding flu shots and flu viruses causes people to do dumb things and not take the necessary precautions and procedures to protect themselves for naturally dealing with colds and flu virus.
What is the Flu?
The flu is widely believed to be caused by a flu virus. The mystery to many is how the flu virus can be around us and in us all year long and not cause us to feel the effects or symptoms of the flu. It appears to be a weakened immune system which allows the flu virus to cause an overload of our immune system. Many doctors do not agree on the best precaution and prevention for dealing with the flu. Some say get a flu shot to build up antibodies and others say build your immune system to better protect you from the flu and all viruess.
To make matters more complex there are many different varieties of flu to contend with. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) there are three types of human influenza: A, B and C. Flu shots are said to help protect against Influenza A and B. Flu shots can’t protect against Influenza C strains or other viruses that produce flu like symptoms.
There are two subtypes of Influenza A virus based on whether they contain the hemagglutinin (H) or neuraminidase (N) protein. Then they are classified by different strains of these two subtypes using information that gives details like geographic location, number and origin species. Influenza B are not divided into subtypes but are categorized into lineage and strains. This is where the different names like Avian (bird) flu, Hong Kong flu, Spanish flu and swine flu come from.
Manufacturing flu shots is like taking aim at many moving targets at the same time since there are many different viruses and they continually mutate over time. How do they know which flu strain to put in the flu shots to give you the right protection for this seasons flu strains? Since they do not know for sure they must guess which ones are more likely and create their cocktail cultures of flu vaccine based on their best guesstimate.
In theory it is easy to recommend a flu shot with various flu viruses in hopes of prompting your immune system to create antibodies to these viruses to help your immune system. It seems the majority of people who get a flu shot get the flu and develop antibodies to those varieties. The big question is would we catch the flu without the flu shot. The second question which comes to mind is the likelihood of catching another influenza strain not in the flu shot.
If we stop to look at the adverse reactions, cost, effectiveness, health risks, inconvenience, infection risk, jab, pain, time and toxic ingredients our common sense tells us there must be a better way. The deeper thought provoking question is: Why not just enhance your immune system all year long and develop your own natural antibodies, macrophages and white blood cells to be resilient and strong against all influenza and other viruses?
When a person gets a flu shot they get a combination of flu strains but also the additives, chemicals, culturing medium, heavy metals and preservatives as unwanted bonuses. When we stop to think about the recommendation to get a flu shot every year we begin to realize that we are receiving lots of virus strains and additives into our body that are not natural, normal or necessary for health. My common sense tells me more foreign material injected into my body increases the chances for creating disease and health issues. Conversely the less foreign material injected into my body increases my chances for creating a strong immune system and natural resistance to all virus strains.
What Causes the Flu?
There are a variety of factors that contribute to the flu. Common sense will tell us that modern processed and refined fake, fast and junk foods that are nutrient deficient and loaded with sugar will have a detrimental affect on our health and make us more prone to disease and viruses. Excess alcohol, chemicals, pollution, sleep deprivation, stress and sugar wreck havoc on our immune system. In addition we all know the importance of clean air, food, land and water which is becoming more contaminated with chemicals and compounds each year. We also know that a healthy lifestyle involves empowering activities, careers, communities, exercises and relationships. People say they are too busy and tired so these healthy habits seem to be more rare and unique than common and usual.
Most people are not taking great care of their body, immune system, mind and spirit so it is easy to imagine a virus finding an inviting site inside a person that is sad, sick, stressed and tired. Before long the virus surprise party gets so out of hand that the host feels pain and problems and reaches for flu medicines and pain relief. Some of the common Over The Counter (OTC) medicines people use include Acetaminophen, Antihistamine, Aspirin, cold medicine, cough medicine, Dayquil, decongestants, flu relief, Ibuprofen, Nyquil, sinus meds, sleep meds, vapor rub and much more in order to feel better with less discomfort. With this many products on the market it is obvious consumers are spending big bucks on flu relief. All Over The Counter (OTC) products have side effects and warnings so please read the warnings and then do the smart thing and avoid them. These chemicals are harmful and then end up in our lakes, oceans, rivers, streams, wells and water supply.
Most doctors agree the best medicine for the flu is avoid unhealthy beverages and food, detox, sleep, vitamins and water. Clean filtered water with electrolytes, green tea, herbs, lemon, minerals, super green powders and vitamins are the best choices. Avoid alcohol, coffee, energy drinks, juices, sodas, sports drinks and black tea. Avoid eating most foods except a little old fashion homemade broth or soup may help.
People spend billions of dollars each year to prevent and then relieve flu symptoms which seems like a big failure and waste of money. With so much money being spent on flu OTC meds, prescription meds and flu shots it is a clear sign that most people have a weak immune system and are making their body weaker by adding more chemicals and toxins rather than building and supporting a stronger immune system. As mentioned in the previous post most people are consuming clogging foods rather than cleansing foods so their digestion and immune system are continually functioning below optimal levels.
Avoiding highly processed and refined beverages and foods helps the body from becoming too acidic and toxic. Drinking and eating fresh nutrient dense organic whole foods will help people of all ages stay more alkaline and therefore avoid many flu and other viruses causing health problems. We are designed by our creator to naturally defend, heal, repair and repel any bacteria, fungus or virus in our environment. With a super healthy lifestyle and the aid of natural berries, foods, flowers, fruits, herbs, minerals, phyto-nutrients, plants, roots, seeds, spices and water we can become virtually invincible to pathogens. Common sense suggests we avoid the artificial and synthetic chemicals and compounds and use natural methods instead.
What Is In Flu Shots?
Unfortunately the majority of people today have been brainwashed and programmed to believe that flu shots are harmless and normal. Flu shots are created by growing influenza virus in a medium using blood, egg or tissue cultures and then processing them with chemicals, heavy metals and preservatives. These extra ingredients are harmful to our health and well being. Vaccines have been linked to adverse events for pregnant women, autism, fetal deaths, Guillane-Barre Syndrome, neurological issues and much more.
To restate the obvious there are several reasons why flu shots are considered chemical toxins:
- Adjuvant added to enhance viral impact
- Contamination from cell DNA or disease agents
- Culture medium (blood cells, eggs, fetal tissue and more)
- Formaldehyde as preservative
- Heavy metals like aluminum and mercury
- Thimerosal has a high amount of mercury which is a neurotoxin
- Various virus strains injected directly into our blood system will by pass our normal defense mechanisms.
Are Flu Shots a Health Hazard?
Yes. Flu shots are ineffective and unsafe since they inject many toxic chemicals and compounds directly into our blood system and do not prevent the flu. The shot by passes the normal defenses of our body like the enzymes, intestines, mucus membrane, skin and stomach acid we were created with. Flu shots deliver many varieties of influenza virus into our blood stream which is a multi level surprise attack by different viruses at the same time.

One of the first changes for me in 1995 was to stop taking flu shots and start building my immune system naturally.
