Happy New Year… Belated. This blog was planned for early January, and life threw me several challenges that got in the way and became high priorities. (Two major pipe leaks and 6 months of construction and restoration, family and friend health issues, and more). Can you relate? Sometimes, even with the best-laid plans, we get turned upside down and find ourselves in a disempowered state of confusion and frustration. This blog is written to help me remember my code of conduct, commitment compass, and core values. This is an essential follow-up to my December 2024 blog post, Happy Holiday Helpful Hints – Healthy Habits or Health Hazards? I hope you found it helpful and find this one helpful also.
How often do you create a plan, list goals, or promise to follow your New Year resolutions and hit a brick wall? There are so many things that can trip us up. Things that cause us to fall. I was traveling in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2019 when I slipped on some food on the pavement and took a nasty fall. At the time, I was visiting my son, and instead of going to the ER, I bought some crutches and hobbled around for a week on my right leg and the crutches. When I got home, I went to a doctor because the pain was unbearable, and I knew something was seriously wrong. Turns out I had fractured my left tibia. They put me in a brace and said to keep using the crutches until it healed. After several months in the brace and lots of physical therapy, I was about 80% back to normal. Or so I thought. I am still being challenged because of that fall.

Unfortunately, most people are so low energy, stressed, and weakened that things they want to improve when they start the new year seem like a struggle. When starting a new year, one of the best things I have found is to check my identity, a combination of my code of conduct, commitment compass, and core values, to see if I am on course.

Code of Conduct
Do you have a Code of Conduct for how you will live your life? If you do great, and if not, or if it is outdated, when would now be a great time to create one or update the one you have? (BTW, we all have one, but it may not have been consciously created by us, but more likely unconsciously created by the actions of others). Taking baby steps toward updating and upgrading your Code of Conduct will put you on an easier, faster, and more efficient path to creating the destiny you desire and deserve.
Creating a Code of Conduct is easy to do and easy not to do. Choose wisely:
- Manifest a positive mental attitude and mindset for mastery.
- Oxygen fuels the body and brain to manifest your destiny. Exercise helps keep the O2 flowing. Being optimistic is essential.
- Relationship quality with yourself and others is vital. Be sure you focus on your rejuvenation, rest, and restoration regularly.
- Nature is one of the most potent forces in the universe. Tap into the power of nature and natural energy resources.
- Identity is the key to how you live your life. Updating and upgrading our identity is a key success strategy. Incantations can help reinforce our identity.
- Nutrient-dense organic whole foods are our foundation and fuel. Nutrition is vital for everything in our life.
- Gratitude helps keep me feeling gifted, grounded, and guided.
- State, Story, and Strategy awareness is a critical success strategy.
- Thoughts, language, and questions are key components of our driving force. Choose wisely.
- Alignment, attitude, and awareness are vital for a healthy body, mind, and spirit. Adopting an exercise code of conduct helps build a healthy body, mind, and spirit.
- Resources, role models, and resourcefulness are keys to helping us learn easier and faster. Investing energy, money, and time to reboot, rejuvenate, rest, and restore are also necessary.
- By the way, did you notice how my Code of Conduct spells out my last name? Could you do something similar to help you develop a more congruent one?
Understanding how the power of your identity via your Code of Conduct, Commitment Compass, and Core Values will put you on the path to adopting healthy habits and avoiding health hazards. Understanding basic human physiology and psychology will help you be more aware, conscious, and mindful of your choices and decisions. If your happiness, harmony, health, and longevity are essential to you, this concept must be part of your success strategies.
Call to Action
The call to action is to inspire you to learn more about your code of conduct, compass, and core values. Invest the energy, money, and time to get clarity and develop a massive action plan to become the captain of your destiny instead of a pawn in the game of life. These success strategies will pay big dividends for the rest of your life—or not, depending on your actions, choices, and decisions. What will you do to lay a strong foundation for your happiness, health, and longevity?
