Pure Drinking WaterHow well do you understand the source of your water when you drink bottled water or water from the tap?

Many people seem to totally trust in water from plastic bottles or from the tap without a second thought. What if you were to learn your water came from an aquifer, lake, or river that had contamination from agriculture, industrial, petroleum products, and wastewater treatment plants?

With this crazy coronavirus pandemic now is a great time to rethink simple steps you can take to boost your health, immune system, and hydration level all at the same time. Many people drink bottled and tap water and may not realize there are health hazards in the water that can harm you. While drinking water for hydration is important, drinking a high quality filtered, purified or spring water is even better. As many people know bottled water can leach compounds called plasticizers into the water and even most tap water has chemicals, chlorine, fluoride, and other harmful contaminants in it.

Unfortunately, almost all the water sources above and below the ground are contaminated to some degree. One concern, in particular, The Fluoride Action Network wants us to aware of is that fluoride a health hazard is added to many municipal supplies of water. Therefore all water should be filtered in some way to remove chemicals, contaminants, and impurities. There are so many models and types of water filters it would take a book and days of writing to cover all of the important considerations. The bottom line is to do your research and find the level and method of water filtration system that fits your budget. Another important step is to avoid plastic water bottles due to the petroleum products used to make the plastic that leaches chemical plasticizes into the water.

First, it is important to make a decision to research the different methods to filter and purify water. Then we must focus on our attitudes, beliefs, and thoughts regarding what are the priorities for our health and well being. Then we can align our actions, habits, and routines in order to do what is necessary to best meet our needs. We deserve to be happy and healthy and the quality of the water we consume has a major bearing on our long term health and well being.

How Safe is Your Water?

Reverse Osmosis Water FilterReverse Osmosis is a popular choice for many people however when you discover how much water is wasted with one of these water filters the eco-friendly side of you may find it is not an optimal choice. Other water systems use filters with charcoal to purify the water but then you have filters that end up in the trash. Some systems convert the water to steam and produce distilled water but it is devoid of minerals. Many people buy bottled water in small plastic bottles which creates a lot of needless plastic that very seldom is ever really recycled and ends up going to waste in massive landfills. Some water filtration systems have a ceramic filter that can be cleaned and reused.

Whatever method you choose it is important to improve the purity and quality of the water before you drink it or you become the water filter. We have all heard stories of water sources being tested only to find antibiotics, birth control, chemicals, drugs, fertilizers, herbicides, and pollution in it. Because of the risk of these contaminants being in the water supply in my opinion it is also beneficial to consume activated charcoal and calcium bentonite clay frequently to help bind and remove any impurities in the water we consume.

This blog post is also designed to remind people to preserve and protect all of our precious water supplies around the world. Pollution to any air, land, or water around the globe eventually leads to contamination affecting all of us. Be sure to consider the local and global impact of all your choices and decisions.
