What have you heard, read or seen on the practice of Energy Psychology (EP) for directing our happiness, harmony, and health? One of my main fascinations over the last few decades and now a writing focus for my blogs is the benefits of various forms of Energy Psychology that can help improve our emotional, mental and physical well being.
Over 100 modalities are linked to Energy Psychology and our goal is to share the benefits of using EP to improve our health and well being. Imagine the many benefits of tapping into Energy Psychology for holistic health and mindful methods to improve our resiliency and vitality.
Dr. Deepak Chopra teaches that “Everything around us consists of energy and information and can influence our body, brain, emotions, and thoughts”. Why not learn proven ways to access even more of our personal power and pure potential?
What is Energy Psychology? The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology says:
“Energy Psychology (EP) is a collection of body-mind approaches for understanding and improving human functioning. EP focuses on the relationship between behaviors, emotions, sensations, and thoughts, and known bioenergy systems (such as meridians and the biofield). These systems and processes exist, and interact, within individuals and between people. They are also influenced by cultural and environmental factors.”
While EP is a fairly new term it is based on a very strong foundation of information and methods, many of which have been used effectively and efficiently for thousands of years.
How Can Energy Psychology Help?
The next two Energy Psychology A-Z modalities we will address are Affirmations and Alignment and their ability to influence our life.
Affirmations is a method and process of saying and thinking positive phrases, thoughts, and words to influence our actions, behavior, emotions, and physiology. By being aware of our language and word patterns we are better able to direct our behavior and habits for more positive progress and rapid results with our desired outcomes. This method has been found to be helpful with a wide variety of benefits and behaviors modifications. Much research has been done on the power of affirmations for improving peak performance in school, society, sports, and success endeavors. What we say and think on a consistent basis becomes our reality. Are your thoughts and words disempowering or empowering you? Remember…choose carefully what you do, say and think daily because that will become your foundation for your future.
Alignment is very important in both our lifestyle and physical body. When our tires are out of balance and our vehicle is out of alignment they wear down faster and can lead to a driving hazard. The same is true for your body. A highly trained Chiropractor, ergonomist, Osteopathic doctor, or physical therapist can help make major progress with getting your body back in alignment. Many people attest to receiving major benefits and results with adjusting their alignment by exercise, manipulation, posture, and yoga. Many times minor adjustments and exercises done on a repetitive basis can create rapid results that are nothing less than miraculous. People have been able to correct their alignment and receive health improvements and pain reduction from injuries. poor posture and trauma that has been affecting them for many years.
In addition to physical alignment in our body, it is also important to be aligned and congruent with our behaviors, lifestyle, and thinking. One simple example might be someone who wants to be happy and healthy but they drink too much alcohol, eat too many unhealthy fake foods and forget to exercise on a consistent basis each week.
Another example could be the person who wants to have a nice home, job and retirement yet they gamble excessively, spend their money carelessly and waste time gossiping and in non-productive activities. It is essential to align with our higher power and purpose on earth to be productive, resourceful, and successful. Everything we need to be all we can be is within us now if and when we align our actions, driving force, and energy to turn our dreams into reality.
