Over the last several years numerous articles have been written warning about the toxic taste threat MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) which is a common food additive and flavor enhancer. While many people have discovered it is a common additive in Chinese foods most people are not aware of how extensively it is used by the food manufacturing industries and restaurants.
As an artificial flavor enhancer, MSG is commonly used by many processed food manufactures in the preparation of fast foods and snack foods to artificially enhance and mask the taste of foods by tampering with your taste buds.
This is the same reason it is in many processed foods from grocery stores and used by many restaurants. Food manufacturers can add MSG to almost any processed food to cover up unpleasant tastes and make the food artificially taste better through modern technology.
This is a major concern to parents and children alike since so many foods contain MSG which is a very addictive substance. Accent Flavor Enhancer is MSG and is an example of a commercial product sold in the spice isle of your local supermarket. It is also most commonly known as Vetsin and Ajinomoto.
MSG is considered an excito-toxin and has been found to be associated with the potential for significant harm to the brain, heart and other organs of the body. While many foods do label MSG as an ingredient there are many foods that do not. You must be on the alert for any food that says MSG as well as all the other deceptive terms used which are often substitute names for MSG.
Many food manufactures have learned that the public is becoming more aware and educated about reading food labels so they have found deceptive ways to label it as another ingredient you may not be familiar with. The actual rules regarding food labeling allow quite a bit of wiggle room that companies utilize to their full advantage even though you may be subject to significant health risks in the process.
